Hello Everyone, It is that time of the Week again. For another Strawberry Sketch.
The Weeks are rolling around fast now. Here in Australia, we are in our second week of spring.

The weather has been iffy this week, threatening rain during the day but thank goodness there is a little wind to keep it away;  great for doing the washing though the clothes and especially the bedding smells so lovely after being out in the breeze and the sun to dry.

I love springtime, as Birds of all different species are back again making homes in the trees and all the flowers are blooming with beautiful colours.

Sarah Berry

The Strawberry Sketches sketch this week is a beauty, definitely fits Spring here in Australia, as there are lots of Butterflies, fluttering from one blossom to another.

Isn't Life Grand?

Sarah Designed the card below using the
Strawberry Sketches Sketch

So here below is my Inspiration from the Sketch this week;
 Of course, I was not going to miss making a card with a Butterfly. I adore Butterflies, I believe they are Angels from Heaven above, coming down to let Us know our Loved Ones who have moved on to Eternal Life are watching us and reminding us that we are Loved So Very Much.

A6 Card in Sweet Sugar Plum. With a Whisper White Layer of Cardstock then a Flirty Flamingo Layer of Cardstock, glued flat onto each other, then a layer of Whisper White Cardstock once more but this time I stamped with Sweet Sugar Plum, Flirty Flamingo and Peek a Boo Peach Inks with the two beautiful butterflies from the "Butterfly Basics" stamp set.

I then cut two 2" wide Vellum tags with the Triple Banner Punch and using the speckled stamp with Versa Mark from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set I then heat embossed the speckled pattern with White Heat Embossing Powder along with the sentiment.
The card front was finished with a Silver Glimmer Butterfly that had been die cut out using the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine using the decorative butterfly from the "Bold Butterflies Framelits Dies".

The inside is a layer of Flirty Flamingo Cardstock and also a layer of Whisper White Cardstock. On this I stamped in Sweet Sugar Plum, one lacy butterfly to compliment the butterflies on the front of the card along with the simple Happy Birthday sentiment, which also came from the "Butterfly Basics" Stamp Set.

  1. I too love butterflies Christine & the pretty butterfly basics are perfect for your card. Awesome layering & background stamping. I really enjoy seeing the inside of cards having the theme carried through too. Well done x

  2. Thank you so much Kim, for your kind words. I think this has become my signature taking the theme inside the card, I feel it gives it a more professional finish and gets the recipient of the card, to appreciate and enjoy the card more, after all it is handmade, and it was made with love. :)
