Kylie's International Blog Highlight June 2017 - BABY THEME

Hello Welcome and thank you for joining me today in this very exciting blog hop. Each month Kylie Bertucci holds an International Blog Highlight on her own blog and asks her team the Crazy Crafters to join in the fun with other very talented people around the world.

It is so much fun for us as well as you looking at all the cards or projects made each month.
This month - June 2017 the Theme is BABY, how this works is Kylie gives us a brief or theme and we make a card or 3D project for that theme; we must us all current Stampin' Up! products.

You as an onlooker can join in on the fun too - I reckon this is the best bit - YOU get to vote for your Top Favorites. I do hope mine will be one you vote for.

This came to me in the 11th hour so to speak, I was struggling to do something different for me. I wanted something easy to do, this time no stamping, I wanted to use the New 2017-2019 In Colors and the In Love DSP, I am a real hoarder of the DSP (Designer Specialty Paper). I asked my team members just this week how do they cut their DSP so I can stop this hoarding and use it. Kylie has a hashtag (#loveitchopit) I need to practise this myself.

I have heard so many times, "I cannot make a card, I don't have a creative bone in my body" with my card this shows YES you can. With the use of a wonderful Framelits Dies Set, the magical Big Shot that puts a smile on everyone's face each time they use it, Cardstock, DSP, Glue and the new Mini Stampin' Dimensionals you have the makings of a Great Card, Simple but Attractive.

I hope I have inspired you with my card today, there are so many more techniques I could add to this card, or change its appearance with different colours, papers, letters the mind boggles. just let it go free and the world becomes your oyster in the land of card making.

The Recipe

1.  21 cm x 14.9 cm In Colors Fresh Fig Cardstock scored at 10.5 cm The Base Card
1. 14.5 cm x 10 cm In Colors Berry Burst Cardstock Layer
1. 14.5 cm x 10 cm Bundle of Love DSP Layer
2. 13.9 cm x 9.5 cm In Colors Powder Pink Cardstock Layers
1 2.5 cm x 9.0 cm In Love DSP

1 of each Letter T,W,I,N,S in the In Colors Berry Burst Cardstock
1 of each Letter T,W,I,N,S in Bundle of Love DSP

The Method

With the Fresh Fig Base Card, fold onto the score and turn it to landscape.
Glue the 14.5 cm x 10 cm  In Colour Berry Burst  Cardstock layer to the card base, then
Glue one of the 13.9 cm x 9.5 cm In Color Powder Pink cardstock layer to the card, here you now have two layers of card with a 5 cm framework. This Powder Pink layer is where you will place the Die Cut Letters T,W,I,N,S. but first you are to glue the letters of the Bundle of Love DSP to the In Colors Berry Burst  letters with a slight overhang to form a shadow, remember to make sure you glue the shadows the same way for all the Letters. Let them Dry.

Now for inside the card, glue the 14.5 cm x 10 cm In Love DSP layer, then on top of this glue the In Colors Powder Pink cardstock layer.
To add a little extra to the inside of the card, glue the 2.5 cm x 9.0 cm  Bundle of Love layer strip at the bottom with an equal amount of In Colors Powder Pink cardstock showing on the two sides and the bottom edge, once again the inside of the card has layers with a 5 cm framework.

Now go back to the front of the card and adhere the Letters with the new Stampin' Up! Mini Dimensionals and to add a little bling ( for me Bling is a must have) I chose the new Stampin' Up!  Glitter Dots.
